MY REASONING:
Snow Day: you open your front door, and find a huge wall of ice. You go to your garage, get the shovel, go back to the wall, and dig your way through and eventually get out.
Hurricane Day: you get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and you find that your carpet is soggy and every non-carpeted floor in your house is under two inches of water. so, you go take your piss, grab an umbrella, climb onto your roof and wait for the coast guard to come and get you.
Snow Day: your pipes freeze up and break. so you get snow from the front yard and use it for water.
Hurricane Day: massive amounts of rain cause all the electricity at the water plant to go dead, meaning no pumps. so you pee in the river running through your living room.
Snow Day: large amounts of snow cause electric lines to go dead. you sit in your house wearing five layers of clothes, freezing.
Hurricane Day: heavy amounts of lightning, wind, and rain cause all power to go out in your county and the five surrounding yours. you sit on the couch, sweating in your bathing suit, waiting for the lighning to let up so you can go outside and cool off.
SD: snow makes your roof collapse.
HD: winds take your whole house apart.
SD: streets turn into ice skating rinks
HD: yards and ponds turn into lakes, lakes turn into oceans.
SD: a snow plow occasionally runs by on your street to try to keep it moderately drivable.
HD: coast guard, national guard, USAF, and us army choppers constantly fly over, mass evacuating everybody.
SD: you flush your toilet. you hear a deafening BANG and then a loud hissing noise. you go to the garage and the whole thing is ice, starting from the pipe on the wall.
HD: you flush your toilet. the three feet of water in your house becomes only one foot.
SD: schools close because they think that three inches of snow is too much to be ignored, so they be lazy and give the kids a day off.
HD: schools close because the Red Cross takes all the mass-evac people and puts them in there. mass panic insues.
SD: people play in the snow
HD: people swim in the rivers that were once their streets
SD: lots of busted pipes, electric failures.
HD: New Orleans. Must i say more?
Why do i say all this? BECAUSE IMA HARDCORE FLORIDIAN, THATS WHY!!
